Each team will be tasked with raising over £4k for The Mitchemp Trust, a charity which works tirelessly to help give young people the hope, confidence and life skills to meet the challenges in their lives through a journey of experience, adventure and fun.

About the race
Not your average weekend away
The race takes place on the weekend of 8-9 September 2012 amidst the rugged terrain and wild beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Teams of a maximum of 6 (including support crew) will cycle, canoe and hike over 60 miles in 24 hours from east coast to west coast Scotland, in an effort to be crowned winner of the Invesco Perpetual Highland Adventure Race 2012.

Race itinerary
Day 1: Saturday 8 September 2012
- Stage 1: Cycle 36 miles of rugged terrain from Inverness Castle to Fort Augustus
- Stage 2: Canoe 9 miles along the Caledonian Canal
- Luxury overnight camping
Day 2: Sunday 9 September 2012
- Stage 3: Hike Ben Nevis, over 4,409 ft
- Celebratory evening reception & prize giving

Team-building at its best
The race is a team event, made up of around 50 teams each with a maximum of 6 members (including support crew). Support crew can choose to participate but only as long as no more than 5 participants complete each stage. The race participants will stick together throughout the race – the clock only stops once everyone in your team has completed each stage. The support crew will drive the team and their equipment around the event, navigate, set up camp and keep the food and water flowing.
Each team will receive:
- Access to online resources: including training plans, fundraising ideas, latest news and any equipment discounts
- Plenty of fundraising support and advice, including a personal contact at The Mitchemp Trust
- Full training support in the run up to the race including training schedules and the opportunity to take part in a training day
- A full event brief from The Mitchemp Trust Chief Executive, Mark Davey
- A logistical race guide for the event, maps, a safety briefing and ’on the day’ race support
- Water stops, hot drinks, evening meals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, luxury overnight camping, sports massage and medical clinic

The Invesco Perpetual Highland Adventure Race on 8-9 September 2012 is open to Professional Clients in the investment management industry. Some other entrants may be invited by invitation only.
Teams must comprise a maximum of 6 participants, of minimum age 18.
